Odisha Women Kabaddi Premier League continues

Kathajodi and Kaveri posted three wins each to inch closer to the semifinals of the 1st Odisha Women Kabaddi Premier League here at Patia today. A total of six teams, involving 84 players, are participating in the three-day tournament, which is being organised jointly by Patia Gada Sports Club (PGSC) and Odisha Kabaddi Association (OKA).

Teams have been named after six rivers, flowing in the state. The champion team will get a cash prize of Rs 20,000 and runner-up side Rs 10,000. The three-day tournament was inaugurated by local MP Prasanna Patasani in the presence of KIIT and KISS founder Dr Achyuta Samanta, local MLA Priyadarshi Mishra, OKA secretary Ajaya Behera, PGSC vice-president Mihir Rout and secretary Prasanna Parida.

June 3: Match No 1:
Kathajodi beat Kharashrota 36-23. PoM: Jhunubala Bindhani (Kathajodi). Match No 2: Kaveri beat Kolab 24-20. PoM: Manaswini Sahoo. Match No 3: Kuakhai beat Koel 33-21. PoM: Tapa swini Bhoi (Kuakhai). Match No 4: Kathajodi beat Kolab 31-10. PoM: Jhunubala Bindhani (Kathajodi). Match No 5: Kaveri beat Kharasrota 33-15. PoM: Puspalata Jena (Kaveri). Match No 6: Kuakhai beat Kolab 28-26. PoM: Tapaswini Bhoi (Kuakhai).
June 4: Match No 7: Kaveri beat Koel 24-19. PoM: Manaswini Sahoo (Kaveri).
Match No 8: Kathajodi beat Kuakhai 33-27. PoM: Sagarika Sasmal (Kathajodi). Match No 9: Kolab beat Koel 23-18. PoM: Mushrafatun (Kolab).
